In this episode we chat with Brandon Dragan.
Brandon Dragan earned his J.D. from Belmont University College of Law in Nashville, TN and won the American Bar Association Journal’s 2021 Ross Writing Contest. He draws on a wide range of influences—from literature, to history, to philosophy—to craft meaningful and often surprising narratives that challenge the status-quo and reach for a deeper understanding of what it means to be human. Brandon and his wife Jami live in the Nashville area with their two daughters, Natalie & Brooklyn. He enjoys a good cigar, Irish whisky, road cycling and is an avid supporter of Arsenal Football Club. Brandon's latest book The Resurrection of Jesse Barrow was released by Quoir in March of 2022

Shannon TL Kearns is a transgender man who believes in the transformative power of story. As an ordained priest, a playwright, a theologian, and a writer all of his work revolves around making meaning through story. He's the co-founder of QueerTheology.com, which has reached more than a million people all over the world through videos, articles, and online courses and community. He was the founder and Artistic Director of Uprising Theatre Company in Minneapolis. Shannon is a recipient of the Playwrights’ Center Jerome Fellowship in 20/21 and he was a Lambda Literary Fellow for 2019 and a Finnovation Fellow for 2019/2020.

He is the host of podcast “The Church Needs Therapy” and is the author of the forthcoming books, “The Making of a Mystic: My Journey with Mushrooms, My Life as a Pastor, and Why It’s Okay For Everyone to Relax,” out on May 31st, and “The Joy of Letting Go” which will be out in January 2023. Both on Quoir Publishing.
He lives In Honolulu with his wife and co-founder of Imagine, Christine, and their two kids, True and Mikayla.

Willie Dwayne Francois III (DMin, Candler School of Theology) is senior pastor of Mount Zion Baptist Church in Pleasantville, New Jersey, and president of the Black Church Center for Justice and Equality. He serves as assistant professor of liberation theology at New York Theological Seminary and directs a master’s degree program at Sing Sing Correctional Facility. He created the Public Love Organizing and Training (PLOT) Project and has served in various organizations engaging racial justice issues, including the Atlantic City chapter of Black Lives Matter, the Samuel DeWitt Proctor Conference, and the NJ Department of State’s MLK Jr. Commission. Francois is an active speaker and has written for HuffPost, Sojourners, The Hill, the Christian Century, and Religion Dispatches. Willie's book Silencing White Noise: Six Practices to Overcome Our Inaction on Race will be released on 8/16/22.

Will Jawando is an attorney, an activist, a community leader and a councilmember in Montgomery County, Maryland, a diverse community of more than one million residents. Called “the progressive leader we need” by the late congressman John Lewis, Jawando has worked with Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Senator Sherrod Brown and President Barack Obama. His writing has appeared in The Washington Post and The Root and on BET.com, and his work has been featured in The New York Times and New York magazine and on NPR, NBC News and MTV. He regularly appears on CNN, MSNBC and other media outlets. Will's book My Seven Black Fathers: A Young Activists Memoir of Race, Family, and the Mentors Who Made Him Whole was released on May 3, 2022.

Linda Kay Klein (she/her) is author of the award-winning book, Pure: Inside the Evangelical Movement that Shamed a Generation of Young Women and How I Broke Free. She is also a religious deconstruction & purity culture recovery coach, and the founder and president Break Free Together, a not-for-profit organization serving individuals recovering from gender- and sexuality-based religious trauma.
Linda has spoken around the world from the TEDx stage to The Apollo’s Women of the World Festival. Her work has been featured by the New York Times, NPR, CBS, NBC, Elle Magazine, and over 150 other outlets. Linda is a trained Our Whole Lives (OWL) sexuality education facilitator, and holds an interdisciplinary Masters degree in gender, sexuality and religion from New York University.
Linda has worked in the social change sector for over two decades. Her background includes founding a program on how to find and follow your purpose used in over 200 universities for the social entrepreneurship incubator, Echoing Green, and working with million dollar donors supporting women and girls through Women Moving Millions.
Linda is married to a writer and social change agent who inspires her every day, and has a daughter in diapers and another in college.

Charles Marsh is a professor of religious studies at the University of Virginia. His books include God’s Long Summer: Stories of Faith and Civil Rights (Princeton), which won the 1998 Grawemeyer Award in Religion, and Strange Glory: A Life of Dietrich Bonhoeffer (Knopf), which was shortlisted for the 2015 PEN/Jacqueline Bograd Weld Award for Biography and won the Christianity Today Book Award in Biography/History. Charles' latest book Evangelical Anxiety was released june 2022. He lives in Charlottesville, Virginia.
